The leader of Wadajir Party has warned African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) against involving itself in some of the contentious electoral issues in Somalia.
Abdirahman Abdishakur, leader of opposition Wadajir Party, told AMISOM to “steer clear of contentious issues.”
Specifically, he mentioned AMISOM’s remarks over the composition of the Federal Electoral Implementation Team (FEIT).
Abdishakur reminded AMISOM that the composition of FEIT is one of the hotly disputed issues.
Opposition politicians have constantly accused the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) of filling FEIT with National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) agents.
In his address to AMISOM, Abdishakur informed the organization that FEIT is full of supports of President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo and civil servants.
Finally, he advised AMISOM to seek to be part of solutions for the ongoing impasse rather than worsening the problem.
