The opposition Wadani Party has defined rules and regulations for candidates vying for parliamentary seats on its ticket.
Somaliland is scheduled to hold council and parliamentary elections on May 31, 2021.
Abdikadir Jirde, the Interim Chairman of Wadani Party, explained the new selection process for the candidates on February 6.
First, he told the aspiring candidates to submit their documents to the respective party headquarters at the regional level.
Secondly, Jirde urged the candidates not to miss a 2-day workshop the party would organize at its headquarters in Hargeisa where they would receive more information.
According to Jirde, the workshop would run from February 11-13.
Jirde also explained that the party would finish evaluating all candidates for the city council and parliamentary seats on March 28.
Thereafter, the party intends to submit the list of its preferred candidates to the National Electoral Commission on March 31.
The Wadani Party leader encouraged all interested candidates to be ready to pay fees for the entire process.
