The leader of the opposition Waddani Party has reassured his supporters that demonstrations will continue in Somaliland.
Abdirahman Irro, the Waddani Party leader, said that planning is at an advanced stage to hold demonstrations in various parts of the breakaway nation.
He spoke on May 31 even as the government of President Muse Bihi Abdi urged opposition leaders to remain peaceful.
Irro said that nobody has a right to stop the demonstrations, which are protected under the country’s constitution.
He urged security agencies to protect the rights of the people who would be out on the streets advocating for the right to freedom of expression and demonstrations.
