A warrant of arrest has been issued for the man who burnt his pregnant wife in Mogadishu on Friday.
Somali Police Force (SPF) issued the warrant for the arrest of the man identified as Sayid Ali Moalim Daud.
Authorities believe that Sayid has gone into hiding after committing the incident that has left the entire nation in shock.
The arrest warrant was issued the same day that federal parliamentarians called for the man to be brought to justice.
Sayid set his wife on fire while at their home in a Mogadishu neighborhood. The 7-month pregnant wife and mother of six was then rushed to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities have called upon the public to share information regarding the fugitive’s whereabouts.
