A significant development in enhancing the capacity of Somali forces and ATMIS (African Union Transition Mission in Somalia) troops has been recorded.
Twenty-six officers from Somali National Army (SNA) and ATMIS completed a five-day training on planning and coordination of joint operations on Monday.
This marks a vital step in the ongoing fight against Al-Shabaab, which has been a serious menace in Somalia for years.
With both national armed forces and international peacekeepers being equipped with improved tactical and strategic skills, it strengthens their ability to collaborate effectively in operations, contributing to greater security and stability in Somalia.
The training is crucial as joint operations are key to defeating the insurgent group and maintaining control over reclaimed territories.
