Reports indicate that Al-Shabaab fighters have forced their way into a village located around 30kms away from Dhusamareb.
On January 15, security sources confirmed the presence of a group of Al-Shabaab extremists in El-Dheer village.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the extremists were able to force their way into the village after ambushing and overpowering the nearby Somali National Army (SNA) bases.
Reports show that there are casualties on both sides of the intense fight.
On Thursday, Al-Shabaab militants announced that they had captured Hoosh village, which is 7kms away from Bacadweyn in Mudug.
