An Al-Shabaab militant surrendered to the military personnel in a Lower Jubba district.
Reports from the region indicate that Ismail Ibrahim Mahamud abandoned the militia on Thursday.
He sought security forces that were in Lower Jubba’s Afmadow district.
Mahamud surrendered after informing the security personnel of his intentions to walk away from the terrorist group.
Military officers took him in for debriefing.
