Al-Shabaab has recruited at least three Kenyan youths from Mandera County, the North Eastern Regional Commissioner announced on Monday.
Regional Commissioner Nick Ndalana said, “We are aware that three youths crossed from Mandera County to join Al-Shabaab in Somalia.”
He mentioned that the youths were from Fino and Lafey.
However, Ndalana assured residents that security agents were monitoring the situation by following the movements of those three young men.
He also urged the parents of the three youths to talk to their children to return home before the “government deals with them the way it deals with the enemies of the country.”
