Amb. Hassan Meets Somalis in Tanzania for Independence Day Planning

Dar es Salaam – Somalia’s Ambassador to Tanzania and the East African Community, Ilyas Ali Hassan, met with members of the Somali community in Dar es Salaam on Monday to discuss preparations for Somalia’s upcoming Independence Day celebrations.

The gathering brought together traditional elders, women leaders, and community representatives to promote unity, cultural pride, and greater collaboration among the Somali diaspora in Tanzania.

Amb. Hassan emphasized the importance of national identity and preserving Somali heritage, especially among younger generations abroad. He also encouraged active participation in the celebrations, which mark Somalia’s independence on July 1.

The meeting served as a platform to strengthen ties between the Embassy and the local community, and to foster solidarity during a time when unity is seen as vital for Somalia’s ongoing development and regional engagement.
