AMISOM’s Ethiopian Troops Recognized for Helping to Stabilize Somalia

African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) recognized its troops from Ethiopia for playing a crucial role in stabilizing Somalia.

On May 2, AMISOM awarded the soldiers from Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) medals and certificates.

During Sunday’s ceremony, AMISOM recognized the efforts of the ENDF soldiers who had been in Somalia for the last 18 months.

Ethiopian troops mostly operate in Beletweyne, a city in Hiraan region, under the AMISOM Sector 4 unit.

They form AMISOM’s Sector 4 unit jointly with colleagues from Djibouti Armed Forces (DJAF) and Somali National Army (SNA).
