Security forces in Barawe city, located in Somalia’s Southwest State, successfully apprehended a member of the militant group Al-Shabaab while he was in the process of burying an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) on the road.
Military officers were then able to safely detonate the bomb, preventing potential casualties and damage after arresting the man on Monday.
This incident highlights the ongoing efforts of Somali security forces to combat terrorist threats and ensure the safety of civilians in regions frequently targeted by Al-Shabaab.
