The African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) has concluded its financial management workshop in the Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa.
ATMIS held a 3-day workshop that ended on October 6.
During the workshop, ATMIS managed to review its financial management and audit status.
On top of that, the ATMIS team briefed stakeholders on the progress of the implementation of its objectives in Somalia.
Participants at the workshop included those from countries that contribute their officers to the ATMIS police unit and troops.
Countries represented at the workshop included Kenya, Burundi, Sierra Leone, Ghana, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Uganda, and Nigeria.
Some of the financial management issues discussed at the meeting included processing liabilities related to deaths and disabilities, allowances to the troops, and third-party claims.
