Barre Accuses Ethiopian Prime Minister of Tarnishing Nobel Peace Prize

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre of Somalia has accused his Ethiopian counterpart of “tarnishing” the Nobel Peace Prize.

Barre made this accusation on Friday.

He said that the recent decision by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed of tarnishing the globally recognized award.

His comments followed the decision by Ethiopia to sign a controversial agreement with Somaliland.

Ethiopia and Somaliland signed the controversial deal on January 1, 2024.

According to Barre, Prime Minister Ahmed has continuously misused the award to incite conflict.

Furthermore, he said that Abiy is guilty of jeopardizing the sovereignty and security of Ethiopia’s neighboring nations.
