President Musa Bihi Abdi of Somaliland and President Mohamed Abdilahi Farmaajo of Somalia are expected to meet in Djibouti for the second time next week.
The news broke out after it was announced that Farmaajo would be making an official visit to Djibouti in the coming week.
Farmaajo is expected to meet with President Ismail Omar Guelleh of Djibouti next week on Tuesday. Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed is also expected at the meeting.
The agenda for the tripartite meeting between Guelleh, Farmaajo, and PM Ahmed includes discussions revolving around the Horn of Africa region.
Their meeting will also focus on the regional integration, which PM Abiy Ahmed has constantly preached on in previous meetings.
Somaliland’s President Bihi would also make the trip to Djibouti to meet President Farmaajo although he is not expected to be in the tripartite meeting.
When they meet next week, Bihi and Farmaajo are scheduled to reach an agreement that would soften the strained relations between their two countries.
Once an agreement is reached, the Somalia would then release funds from the international community meant for development projects in Somaliland that it has withheld.
