MOGADISHU, Somalia – Around 25 representatives from Somali civil society organizations recently participated in a key consultative session facilitated by the United Nations Integrated Transition Mission in Somalia (UNTMIS) in Mogadishu.
The session focused on reviewing and discussing two cornerstone documents for the UN’s development support in Somalia: the UN Common Country Analysis (CCA) and the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF).
These frameworks are essential in aligning international assistance with Somalia’s National Transformation Plan, a comprehensive roadmap for the country’s progress.
Participants shared critical insights on Somalia’s development priorities, the role of civil society in achieving inclusive growth, and strategies to address socio-economic challenges.
UNTMIS emphasized that the consultation ensures Somali voices are reflected in the UN’s programming and long-term development strategy.
The session is part of broader efforts to foster national ownership, build partnerships, and strengthen coordination with local stakeholders as Somalia continues on its path toward stability and sustainable development.
