District Official Narrowly Escapes IED Blast in Mogadishu

A local district official narrowly escaped death when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in Mogadishu.

The IED blasted through the nation’s capital on Friday night.

Police confirmed the incident. Several witnesses who were also at the scene said that the blast left them utterly shocked.

Nevertheless, the official’s identity is yet to be revealed.

Authorities confirmed that the incident occurred when the remote-controlled IED went off in the evening. It was attached to the wall of the district official’s house.

No one has claimed responsibility for the shocking attack.
