Somaliland officials were on hand to welcome the initial donation of medical supplies from the country’s expats working and living in China.
Officials who received the consignment include those from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Additionally, the Head of Somaliland’s Mission to China was part of the delegation too. He issued a statement thanking the expats for their kind gesture.
He also asked for increased cooperation between the government and members of public to address the challenges that COVID-19 has brought into the country.
On his part, Yassin Mohamud Faraton, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, appreciated the generous contributions of the expats.
The medical supplies will help the government to test, cope with, and curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
