The outgoing minister met with Dr. Elmi M. Nur, who is scheduled to take over from him once the federal parliament approves his appointment.
Earlier this week, Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre appointed Dr. Nur the new finance minister.
The two met at the offices of the finance ministry in the nation’s capital on Friday, August 5.
During their meeting, they discussed wide-ranging issues. Primarily, their discussions centered around the status and progress of the ongoing economic reform programs in Somalia.
They also discussed opportunities for further development in the days ahead.
Somalia’s economy has earned considerable praise from different quarters over the last few years under the leadership of Dr. Beileh.
