Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has reappointed Dr. Fawziya Abikar Nur the Minister of Health in the latest cabinet reshuffle.
The reshuffle had been eagerly anticipated since Roble was appointed the Prime Minister by President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo a month ago.
Farmaajo appointed him to replace Hassan Ali Khaire ever since the House of Representatives kicked the immediate former Prime Minister out of office in late July.
With the reappointment, Dr. Nur leads the country’s fight against the deadly COVID-19 pandemic, which first rocked the country in March 2020.
Dr. Nur is one of the four Somali women appointed as cabinet ministers by Roble.
However, they are not expected to serve for long since the country is to hold its parliamentary and presidential elections in December 2020 and February 2021 respectively.
