The International Organization for Migration (IOM) delivered several sandbags to flood-prone areas in Somalia.
Officers from IOM Somalia delivered the sandbags to Bardhere earlier this week.
Apart from the sandbags, they distributed steel wire, sand, and different types of tools to the Bardhere residents.
IOM announced that the distribution exercise was for enhancing the level of preparedness.
The organization’s personnel indicated that the sandbags and other items would reduce the impact of heavy rains and floods on local families.
Several organizations warned of heavy Gu rains in Somalia accompanied by floods.
