Ethiopian forces attempted to enter Mataban district on Friday.
Lieutenant Hassan Usubow said that the Ethiopian military tried entering the central Somalia district earlier today.
Lt. Usubow, who is the local police commissioner, said the Ethiopians first crossed the border.
However, local security personnel resisted the attempt by the Ethiopian National Defense Force (ENDF) to enter Mataban.
Local residents also reported seeing the heavy presence of the Ethiopian troops near the district.
