A former Minister of Energy and Water Resources has condemned Somalia’s decision to reject any kind of dialogue with Ethiopia.
Ex-minister Hassan Abdinoor, who currently serves as a federal legislator, said that Somalia was wrong to reject talks with Ethiopia.
Somalia and Ethiopia have been at loggerheads since January 1, 2024 when the latter signed a seaport Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Somaliland.
Further, he hit out at Somalia for excluding Ethiopia from all post-African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) plans.
He stated that all forces serving under ATMIS should either leave or stay.
His comments follow those by National Security Advisor Hussein Sheikh-Ali who stated that Somalia would not allow Ethiopia to provide security in the country post-ATMIS.
