Former President Sharif Sheikh Ahmed has criticized the handling of state-owned land in Mogadishu, stating that no ministry buildings or hospitals were constructed on these properties over the past two years, despite forced evictions of families.
He highlighted that, rather than serving public needs, these lands were allocated to business interests, displacing vulnerable families who could have benefited from such spaces.
This raises concerns over land use priorities and the government’s commitment to addressing social welfare and housing for those in need.
