Former Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo condemned the recent clashes between security forces and auto-rickshaw drivers in Mogadishu.
The clashes, which lasted two days this week, pitted security forces against rickshaw drivers protesting against increased license taxes.
Ex-President Farmaajo criticized the use of force against the protesters and expressed concern over the government’s handling of the situation.
He emphasized the need for dialogue and peaceful resolution of such disputes.
Farmaajo called for the protection of citizens’ rights and urged the authorities to consider the economic hardships faced by many due to the rising costs of living.
