President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo led the nation in mourning a senior Somali cleric who died of COVID-19 complications on February 16.
Sheikh Nur Baruud, a senior cleric in the East African nation, lost his life to the deadly disease on Tuesday night.
Farmaajo sent heartfelt condolences to Sheikh Baruud’s families and friends.
Baruud passed away at De Martini Hospital in Mogadishu where he had been admitted for medical attention after being diagnosed with the deadly disease.
While mourning the cleric, President Farmaajo described the late Sheikh Baruud as one of the main pillars of the Somali Ulema.
