President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo has urged Somalis to embrace and promote unity while shunning all forms of terrorism.
Farmaajo said this on Monday while leading the country in celebrating the National Flag Day, which Somalis celebrate each year on October 12.
He also urged Somalis to pray for those who sacrificed their lives to ensure that the country is not only united but also has a functional government.
The president reminded Somalis that their flag is a symbol of unity, sovereignty, and togetherness.
He encouraged Somalis to shun terrorism, which Al-Shabaab and other militia groups around the country have been carrying out for years.
