Flash Floods Killed 473 People in Somalia and Other Eastern Africa Nations

The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) announced that the recent flash floods in East Africa have thus far claimed the lives of 473 people.

In its recent report, OCHA said that the deaths were recorded in Somalia, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, and Ethiopia.

Furthermore, the organization indicated that the floods, which are from the recent heavy rains in the region, affected over 1.6 million individuals.

Consequently, OCHA issued a call for urgent humanitarian assistance considering that more than 410,350 people were displaced from their homes.
