Forty social media accounts that have been promoting terrorism in Somalia are suspended.
The Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) announced the suspension of the accounts that have been promoting terrorism through Twitter and Facebook.
Abdirahman Adala, the federal Deputy Minister of Information, announced the suspension on Saturday.
Adala stated that the Somali government had worked closely with Twitter and Facebook to suspend the 40 accounts.
He mentioned that the accounts had actively spread terrorism agenda for a long time.
Furthermore, he mentioned the violent extremist ideology that the accounts had been advocating for ages.
