Heavy Rains Displaced over 50,000 Residents of Two Jubbaland Districts

Heavy rains caused the displacement of over 50,000 residents of two districts in Jubbaland.

The Somali office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) confirmed this on Thursday.

According to UNHCR, the displacement was the heaviest in Kismayo and Jamaame districts.

UNHCR also mentioned that 8,400 households were affected by the heavy rains between November 26-29 in remote areas in both districts.

Consequently, UNHCR has been providing round-the-clock relief and support to the displaced.
