Mohamed Syed Barnacle, the interim Speaker of HirShabelle Regional Parliament, has appointed a nine-member committee to elect the new state president.
President Mohamed Abdi Ware is set to be replaced in the upcoming polls.
Waare was elected the President of HirShabelle in September 16, 2017. He replaced Ali Abdullahi Osoble.
HirShabelle is one of Somalia’s newest Federal Member States (FMS).
Speaker Barqadle announced that Yussuf Ma’alin Jelle would lead the committee of nine members.
Abukar Hassan Ali is set to deputize Jelle.
HirShabelle would be holding Presidential Elections in early November.
