Legislators in the regional state of HirShabelle have approved the new cabinet.
The legislators approved the list of 81 new cabinet ministers that HirShabelle’s President Ali Hussein Gudlawe appointed earlier this week.
HirShabelle parliament approved the cabinet on Wednesday, August 3.
President Gudlawe attended the parliamentary session. He was in the company of other leaders including Abdihakim Luqman Haji Mohamed.
Luqman is the Speaker of the HirShabelle Parliament.
His two deputy speakers were present too.
Speaker Luqman confirmed that 80 legislators voted in favor of the new cabinet while three lawmakers voted against it.
Gudlawe’s new cabinet now features 27 ministers and 27 deputies. It also has 27 state ministers.
He has never operated with a cabinet since being elected HirShabelle leader almost two years ago.
Now, HirShabelle is the regional state with the largest cabinet in Somalia.
