The Horn of Africa region is expected to receive above-average rainfalls between March and May this year.
The Intergovernmental Authority on Development Climate Prediction and Applications Center (ICPAC) released details on the upcoming rains on Thursday.
ICPAC stated that countries in the region should prepare for heavy rains.
Normally, this season, which is also known as the MAM rainy season, accounts for up to 60 percent of the rains received in the region annually.
Apart from Somalia, other countries in the region expected to benefit from the rains are Kenya and Uganda.
Others include South Sudan, southern Ethiopia, Burundi, and Rwanda.
The north-western parts of Tanzania will receive heavy rains too.
