Humanitarian Ministry Warns of Heavy Rains in Somalia the Next 7 Days

The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management has warned of heavy rains in different parts of Somalia in the next seven days.

Therefore, the humanitarian ministry has urged residents in the southern and northern parts of the country to be vigilant.

According to the most recent weather forecast, the southern and northern parts of Somalia as well as the Ethiopian highlands will receive more than normal rainfall in the next seven days.

Further, the ministry has warned that these regions are also prone to floods.

Specifically, it mentioned Jowhar and Beledweyne as two of the regions expected to experience the worst floods.

Currently, the river levels in these regions are nearly full and the expected rainfall will only make the situation worse.
