Intelligence Officer Rejoins Government Days after Defecting to Ahlu Sunna

An intelligence officer has rejoined the Somalia government days after defecting to Ahlu Sunna militia group.

On November 7, President Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qoorqoor of Galmudug pardoned and welcomed back the intel officer.

The intel officer has been revealed is Dhamme Nur-Deek Ali Abdi Farah.

Sources revealed that Farah allegedly grabbed a rifle from Ahlu Sunna before taking off from their camp on Saturday night.

Abdirahman Gedaqoroow, the Mayor of Dhusamareb, accompanied Farah to President Qoorqoor’s office.

Qoorqoor commended Farah for the decision made to return to the government.

His decision comes a few weeks after the deadly clashes in the Galmudug town of Guri-El between government troops and the Ahlu Sunna militia.

Nur-Deek has been working for the National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in Galmudug.
