Somaliland’s Central Bank Launches e-Money Services

The Central Bank of Somaliland has launched the country’s first e-Money services.

Abdirahman Abdilahi Ismail Sayli’i, the country’s Vice President, launched the services while opening the Central Bank’s newest branch in Togwajale.

Mukhtar Abdi Qulle, Central Bank’s Director General, announced that the electronic money services will allow taxpayers to file their tax returns more efficiently.

Qulle spoke at the launch of the Togwajale branch of the Central Bank.

The launching of the new branch and the e-Money services took place on October 31.

Engineer Ali Abdilahi Dahir, the Governor of the Central Bank, also attended the launching of the new branch and the attendant e-Money services.

Mukhtar confirmed that the new services would make it easier for the people of Somaliland – including traders – to access government services easily.
