Abdullahi M. Nor, the Minister of Internal Security, has ordered the permanent cancelation of the work permit visa of a top African Union (AU) diplomat.
Nor directed Somali Immigration Authority to cancel the work permit visa of Ambassador Francisco Madeira’s with immediate effect.
His orders follow the decision by Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble to declare Ambassador Madeira persona non grata.
On April 6, Prime Minister Roble gave Ambassador Madeira 48 hours to leave Somalia.
Apparently, Roble found the top AU diplomat guilty of acting in a manner unworthy of his status.
Nor wrote to the Immigration Authority on April 9 asking the body to ensure that Madeira’s work permit is revoked permanently and immediately.
