Jama Pursues Improved Bilateral Relations between Somalia and Russia

Abshir Omar Jama is currently in Moscow pursuing improved bilateral relations between Somalia and Russia.

Jama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, was in Moscow on Friday for a meeting with Sergey Lavrov, his Russian counterpart.

Lavrov welcomed Jama to Russia.

He added that Russia and Somalia enjoy solid relations historically.

The minister expressed hope that Russia and Somalia would actively work towards developing and intensifying cooperation.

They also plan to discuss preparations for the Russia-Africa Summit, which St; Petersburgh is expected to host in July.
