James Swan briefed the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on the situation in Somalia.
Swan appeared before the UNSC on Monday in his capacity as the Acting Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) of the UN.
“Somalia continues to pursue its national priorities unwaveringly,” said Swan.
“Some of these priorities include the constitutional review process as well as the ongoing war on terrorist groups such as Al-Shabaab,” he added.
He briefed the Security Council on the joint Somalia-UN technical committee that is working on a smooth transition plan once the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) leaves.
