Kismayo, Jubbaland – The Jubbaland State House has confirmed that President Ahmed Islam Madobe formally bid farewell to a federal government delegation led by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on Monday, even though his name was not mentioned in the official communiqué. The visit marked the latest phase in political engagement between the regional administration and the central government.

In its statement, the Jubbaland presidency reaffirmed its commitment to resolving political differences through dialogue and sustained consultation. It emphasized that discussions with the Federal Government remain ongoing and are aimed at strengthening cooperation within Somalia’s federal structure.

The statement also expressed appreciation for Kenya’s diplomatic contributions, acknowledging Nairobi’s efforts in promoting peace and stability in Somalia. Kenya has long played a central role in regional mediation and supports security operations involving both federal and regional actors.
