The latest round of mortar attack in the clash-laden Las Anod town has left four people dead.
Sources added that Sunday’s attack claimed at least four lives while leaving many others injured.
Speaking to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Somalia, witnesses said that Somaliland troops engaged SCC-Khatumo militants in a fierce battle.
Consequently, mortar shells were hurled in the town leading to the deaths.
The mortar shells landed in a residential area.
Residents of Las Anod have not known any peace or calmness for the past seven months. However, the last two weeks have been full of relative calm.
