Somali National Army (SNA) troops claim to have killed the head of Al-Shabaab’s tax collection unit in Mokoqori town.
The military gave a media briefing on Saturday on this matter.
As per the briefing, SNA officers gave the man’s name as Derow.
Military sources indicate that Derow had been in charge of collecting and managing taxes that the militia group extorts from local residents.
Furthermore, security forces killed five other terrorists.
SNA officers intimated to the media that they captured a vehicle containing three AK-47 rifles, munitions, military radios, and many tax forms during the October 22 operation.
