The outgoing Minister of Internal Security of Somalia has handed over the docket to his successor.
Abdullahi M. Nor, the outgoing minister, handed over the keys to his office to Dr. Mohamed Ahmed.
Dr. Ahmed takes over with immediate effect.
Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre appointed Dr. Ahmed the new minister in charge of the internal security docket when announcing his cabinet earlier this month.
The handing-over ceremony took place in Mogadishu on Wednesday, August 10.
During the ceremony, Nor said that it had been his honor and privilege to serve Somalia.
He expressed confidence in the new leadership’s ability to proceed with the ongoing reforms in the security sector to make Somalia a much safer and secure country for all.
