Somali police shot and killed four anti-government protestors in Mogadishu on Tuesday, December 15.
Earlier in the day, protestors took to the streets in the nation’s capital to demand for timely, free, and fair elections.
Reports from the city show that four protestors lost their lives when police officers shot at them to quell the uprising.
The protestors were shot and killed in Yaqshid District, Mogadishu.
In the morning, residents woke up to the presence of police cars on the streets. The cars barricaded certain sections of the road probably in anticipation of the protests.
Several major roads around the city remain barricaded as police prepare for more protests.
Many protestors were injured in the fracas and are in hospital where they are currently receiving medical treatment.
