President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has officially opened the inaugural Somalia International Investment Conference.
The conference, which has been dubbed SIICO2022, kicked off on Monday, November 28 in Mogadishu.
It is the brainchild of the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development.
Somalia Investment Promotion Office (SOMINVEST) also played a crucial role in ensuring that the conference kicks off and runs without any hitch.
The federal planning minister, Mohamud Beenebeene, was present at the conference together with other officials from his ministry.
Beenebeene said that the aim of the conference is to expose investment opportunities in Somalia to international investors.
Further, he added that the conference would help display the improved investment climate in Somalia to the rest of the world.
