Prime Minister Condemns Al-Shabaab for Torching Food

Somalia’s Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has condemned Al-Shabaab for torching food.

Reports from Wajid district indicate that the militants torched food and property that belong to local Somali businessmen in the area.

The incident took place in Bakol on Wednesday, October 20.

According to local sources, the burning of food and property has left the businesspeople with huge financial losses.

A statement from the Prime Minister described Al-Shabaab’s behavior this week as a manifestation of the group’s cruel nature.

Moreover, he condemned the cruelty that takes place when the country faces drought and conflict.

Further, he commended Somali National Army (SNA) for coming to the victims’ rescue.
