Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has guaranteed 30 percent women representation in the Lower House and Upper House.
Roble said that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) remains committed to increase the number of women representatives in parliament.
The Prime Minister was speaking on January 9, when he announced that the East African nation would continue with elections.
He said that the country would hold timely elections in Galmudug, Southwest, HirShabelle, and Benadir regions.
Roble said that timely elections would not take place in Jubbaland and Puntland, though.
His guarantee of 30 percent quota came after holding a meeting on Saturday with women legislators from the House of Representatives and the Senate.
