Cyclone Pawan landed in Puntland’s coastal region where it left a trail of havoc behind. The cyclone, which landed on Friday, devastated a region that has already suffered its share of terrible floods and storms.
Although the storm was not too powerful, the heavy rains it brought created horrific winds that caused unimaginable flooding while destroying houses. It also submerged several roads in regions such as Nugal and Bari.
Several flights that were to take off from Garowe Airport were delayed too.
Houses, infrastructure, livestock, crops, and lives were destroyed too. One person died when the fishing boat he was in capsized in Alula Town, Gardafu. In Nugal, 50 homes and 200 farms were left in complete destruction.
