Prime Minister Mohamed Hussein Roble has reappointed Mahdi M. Gulaid as his Deputy Prime Minister.
Roble made this announcement on Monday, October 19.
Gulaid’s reappointment as the Deputy Prime Minister comes on the day when Roble announced his highly anticipated new cabinet.
Mahdi Gulaid was the Deputy Prime Minister under immediate former Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire.
However, President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo elevated him as the Acting Prime Minister when the House of Representatives voted Khaire out of office in late July 2020.
Gulaid was the Acting Prime Minister until Farmaajo appointed Roble as the permanent Prime Minister, a decision that the Federal Parliament later approved.
