The Office of the Attorney General of Somalia announced the arrest of Ertugrul Karafiyeli, a senior official of Favori Co.
Karafiyeli was arrested on Tuesday.
The Turkish national is the Head of Labor and Employment at Favori, the company managing Mogadishu’s seaport and Aden Adde International Airport.
Karafiyeli is accused of engaging in “immoral conduct, threats, abuse, and misuse of power” directed at Somali employees.
He also allegedly violated the Labor Code and workplace ethical standards.
The Attorney General’s Office emphasized that the arrest followed thorough investigations and reflects the government’s commitment to protecting the rights of Somali workers.
