Somali National Army (SNA) soldiers have stopped the deadly siege by militants at a popular hotel in Mogadishu.
The militants raided Elite Hotel along Lido Beach on Sunday evening.
They set off the attack after detonating a car bomb that rocked the entire premises and caused a lot of pandemonium.
Thereafter, the attackers moved into the hotel where they held customers at ransom, injured a few others, and killed some more.
However, SNA troops responded to the attack fast.
The soldiers rushed onto the scene of the crime and engaged the militants in a gunfight that lasted several hours.
Nevertheless, the nightmare is now over.
According to multiple sources, 11 people died during the siege. SNA troops managed to kill five of the militants too.
